They actually don’t ask any of that. Not at mine. You say you want a covid shot and you get one. For now anyway
lidsville.bsky.social
Because there’s zero public health messaging about it? I only get this info because I’ve worked for doctors advocating on this issue.

It’s like you need a magic password to join the club

According to Dr. Moriarty, right now 1 in 95 Canadians has Covid. That's almost half a million people. Very few are boosted.

BC is at about the Canadian average & (prob rising).

If you want to see the work:
1.05% of 40,233,855.00 Canadians = 422, 455 people currently infected.

Why is the US CDC site *still* better on Covid vaccines than Canada's, even despite circumstances?

And by circumstances I mean RFK

Benefits of Getting Vaccinated
For Everyone

What to know

Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 has many benefits that are supported by scientific studies.
The COVID-19 vaccine helps protect you from severe illness, hospitalization, and death.
CDC recommends an updated COVID-19 vaccine for most adults ages 18 years and older.
Parents of children ages 6 months to 17 years should discuss the benefits of vaccination with a healthcare provider.

An analysis of multiple studies shows significant reduction in Long Covid in vaxed adults. Prob kids too but evidence not collected yet. There may be other good outcomes with vaccines that don't meet the WHO diagnostic criteria for LC aka PCC (post covid condition) www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/news-even...
COVID-19 vaccination reduces risk of ‘long COVID’ in adults
COVID-19 vaccination reduced the risk of developing ‘long COVID’ by approximately 27% in adults fully vaccinated before infection, according to a literature review carried out by the European Centre f...

Ugh. That doesn't even meet the lowest bar for public health
lidsville.bsky.social
Ontario did used to be easier to procure vaccines and Paxlovid and tests than BC, but I guess no longer

The feds no longer pay for Covid vax - the provinces have to shell out & the optics are bad: failing to do a public health campaign to get people vaxed looks like provs saving $, even if it's not

If you can't find a Covid shot via walk-in, book using this line. And insist. 1-833-838-2323

Ah, right. There you go. They're saying the gen pop doesn't need them. But that's not what research suggests, esp on Long Covid.

Covid boosters/vaccines are here. But there's been *zero* public health messaging. You have to be in the know to get one.

I got Moderna & flu shot today. I asked the pharmacy why they had flu shot signs up, but not Covid. They waffled & finally admitted "limited supply" #bcpoli
paper sign at pharmacy, Flu Shots Available Today! Nothing on Covid
lidsville.bsky.social
Where is BC public health? Even in the US there were public health campaigns around Covid shots, and much earlier access to them - well before this massive Covid wave hit. This is SO late. Too late for many

And where on earth is Bonnie Henry? Training to replace Theresa Tam as CMOH? That's the fear

maybe this will help some realize that you don’t need access to cover the government effectively. in fact, it’s actually better.

The Pentagon is telling beat reporters to sign restrictive new rules by Tuesday or surrender their press passes by Wednesday. Many news organizations are rejecting the ultimatum and saying they will not sign. Here's my latest >>> www.cnn.com/2025/10/13/m...

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

yearly reminder to people insisting that we view Christopher Columbus as "a man of his time" that *the people responsible for the Spanish Inquisition* thought Columbus was out of pocket

Christopher Columbus was dragged back to Spain in chains by a crusading knight, convicted of tyranny and immeasurable cruelty, pardoned by Isabella but banned from returning to Hispaniola.

Fuck Columbus.

I'm going by the size of the humans vs the signs. That size, with thin white on blue (already not a readable colour scheme) isn't easily or safely readable to a driver. There's no reason why you can't make them far more legible than that. This is a common problem (I see it in protest stuff a lot)

"I'm not surprised the personal attacks have started. They've got loads of lines: about my teeth, about my history as an actor, about my name change... the right just don't actually have a line of attack against me that's political"

Went to a garden nursery yesterday—which is the closest I get to religious observance—and someone was playing a podcast at full volume off an iPhone. You could hear a man rambling tinnily on from every corner of the place, which is normally just bird sounds and buzzing. What are they doing??
lidsville.bsky.social
Love the idea. But free comms advice: those signs aren't even legible at walking speed in this video, never mind drivers being able to read them. And why is the "Fascism" part faded?

Let's not do "The Revolution Will Not Be Legible Even At 15 Feet"
