Y’know, seeing French politicians be so insistent on rolling back the pension reform (which makes me laugh, like- I won’t get to retire), I wonder for a moment what the world would be like if they took a similar burned earth approach to the horrendous immigration law that passed not that long ago

Seconding. I rewatched / finished it recently and while it has major flaws (the way it treats its Black characters, Christ) it is fascinatingly prescient in highly specific ways. And it has a beautiful take on humans becoming More Than through their… complicity with the machine

Ventilation (whether mechanical or via openable doors / windows), air purifiers or filtration, mask policy. We are still in a pandemic and I can virtually not attend anything without risking further possibly-lifelong disability unless I’m organizing it myself.
And: managing access conflicts!

And there’s this eagerness to spread DATA about how yes the entire population is ontologically evil, which… that sits real poorly with me as well. A State committing genocide has a marked interest in proving that its population is fully onboard, this seems obvious, yet the data goes unquestioned

The way in which some leftists meme about Israel as if it’s The One Evil Illegitimate Country makes me reaaaaal uncomfortable. There’s a classic obnoxious move in there of flattening the State with its crimes with its people with its cultures, and no small amount of antisemitism on top. It’s WEIRD
