A really neat thing about the internet is that regular, every day people can come onto websites like this one and decide to say something kind, uplifting or encouraging and turn a complete stranger's day totally around. I think that's an important thing to hold fast and remember.

I tutored her for a bit in sociology when I'd spend time in the coffeehouse. I adore feeding people and making them feel seen. It's a balm to my soul.

The tea club and men's steak night groups from my church are super stoked to get out and protest on Saturday. They're all 60+ white upper middle class suburban folks. I helped them out with some of their signs. They'll be surprised to find out they're Hamas supporters.

It's a big, beautiful world out there with things like flowers, books and autumnal breezes. Don't spend your entire day online mainlining hateful things and arguing with people. It isn't healthy, and the folks that seek to divide need you angry all the time. Deny them the permission.

I had to have these two. Every year that I volunteer with the patch, I look for the oddly colored, bumpy and long stemmed variety. 🎃
