I really don't wanna give this too much attention because franky the guy should be irrelevant by now, but I think it's fascinating how quickly fascists work on myth making.
They're mad about people quoting things Kirk actually said, because it contradicts the myth they want to make of him.

The girl wants to kill herself because she's been abused and antagonized by every support system, her family and friends over being herself and been taken advantage of by her love interest and idol and the show does nothing but invalidate her abusers' roles in this. She's always "wrong" too.

The dad never does anything to deserve the understanding Nina and the show's framing end up giving him and the episode ends with her getting her keys back, framing it as her being "free" and her family half-heartedly supporting her decision, as if they couldn't revoke it again at any time.

Prime example is ep10 where her family locks her out of her own home in the dead of night in Tokyo then force her to reconcile with her patriarchal ass dad and the moral of the episode is "wow I'm glad I have family too bad we just don't get along" as if the abuse wasn't completely one sided.

I'd have to write a huge ass essay to explain specifically what is bad and why but the tldr is it centers around a girl who's queer and on the spectrum and ep10 onwards pulls every trick to delegitimize her struggles against her abusers and excuse their actions. I'll give an example tho

It really sucks because it's pretty great at first but the last couple episodes seem like they were scientifically engineered to offend me personally in the most personal way possible and I resent it deeply for that.

It's really not a game I'd recommend to anyone looking for a mechanically and technically sound game that they can invest hundreds of hours into, simply because it pales in comparison to the previous entries in that regard. Perhaps that info is meaningless to many though.

As for the Steam review thing, it's really about who is reading it. I don't doubt MHW is an awesome game if you just play it once and are new, but mechanically, this game fucking sucks and the deeper you sink your teeth into the series, the more bitter it tastes imo.

You can go 10k hours in this game without ever doing numbers or optimizing a single matchup if you just play casually and don't actively try to improve and every time I see this appeal to authority, it's someone who ran out of actual arguments and doesn't know how the game works.

true, although my comment is more about people claiming expertise based on playtime that they don't really have.
Just recently someone tried to use that to convince me that LS needs to attack the tail in MHGU, which any actually good player would agree is an insane thing to say.
