My girlfriend had one just like that back in the late 70s. I had a ‘matching’ 1978 750 Bonneville.
The 650 was actually the quicker of the two in a straight line, but the 750 handled much better.

At Kyalami in 2001 Edward’s RC51 blew up in the 2nd race. He came to a halt in a pool of oil and shattered internals. In their press release Honda claimed the bike had suffered an ‘electrical problem’. And so it was. The crankshaft had disintegrated so the alternator and ignition both failed 🤣
