Guess it's time to do my intro🧍🏾‍♀️

Hi I'm Jenna & I mainly write essays and draw things. Here's a list of my many interests:

Music ☆ Rachel Chinouriri, Little Simz, Leikeli47, ENNY, AURORA

Games ☆ Animal Crossing, Splatoon
I don't want garlic bread memes and allosexuals saying I'm #valid, i want bodily autonomy for everyone in society. I want freedom!
The reason why the mainstream image of The Asexual is white, whether soft and innocent or harsh and calculated, is intentional. To really understand Black asexuality and the Black asexual experience, you have to understand antiblackness and compulsory sexuality.
Not only do u need asexuality's basics but u need to advance them beyond basic cookie cutter asexual 101. Beyond asexuality is a spectrum + valid platitudes you need to know compulsory sexuality exists & white supremacy doesn't disappear just bc we're ace.
I wish people knew that in the same way you have Black lesbian, Black gay, Black bisexual, Black trans etc. specific experiences, there is a specific Black asexual identity (same for Black aromantics too). We don't navigate asexuality like non Black asexuals. 🧵

But things can and do get better. I go to real life ace events and have my server and things have been a lot better since moving away from tumblr. We’re in the early stages of shaping what Black asexuality is and i intend to use this time the best i can to pave this lane.
It was also hurtful to be met with the same lesbophobic rhetoric that had plagued me before, the ideas of romance with women just being friendship, having my lesbian posts tagged as aroace and told pro-gay love & sex activism was aphobic/acephobic, activism i very much need(ed)
Black-Ace-Culture-Is was born out of passion for Black asexual community, but no good deed goes unpunished. I had white aces & non Black poc speaking over us constantly, a reddit leaker, slurs in my inbox & smear campaign led by aroacesafeplaceforall + their rancid following
But as i grow in visibility, i kept getting spoken over by white asexuals. Aroace or alloace, sex repulsed or sex favourable, hell the white and non Black aroallos too, it does not matter. The online white aspec community isn't ready for me or my ideas 🤷🏾‍♀️
When they spoke on antiblackness in the community i got it but i didn't tuly understand until i joined tumblr. I didn't plan on being an ace blogger, i just yapped about asexuality and then i kept blowing up & got/get labelled an 'asexual activist' and 'educator'
My 1st experiences involved me getting aired in my 1st ace and aro discord server so not much was lost by leaving. Then i was just a lone wolf, not really having a community for a while. I found Yasmin Benoit and Minu and they were my 1st Black ace creators
If we're being 100% honest, my opinion of the asexual community has been at the lowest it has *ever* been for me this year and I've been hit hardest with the reminder I will ALWAYS be Black before I'm asexual.🧵 #aceweek #blackaceweek

What has your experience been within the asexual community?

And most recently, this essay on how compulsory sexuality affects me specifically and personally, in terms of how asexuality affects and allegedly "desexualises" my Blackness and lesbianism and why I'm tired as fuck x

Compulsory Sexuality Is Designed to Exhaust Us
Why asexual people are always tired.

Next is Aces Are White, Aros Are Green, But Spades Are Black. The most hurtful asexual essay I've ever written for obvious reasons but 1 that was needed. A deep dive into how the ace, aro + overall aspec community is antiblack to Black aces + aros & why.

leikeliscomet.substack.com/p/aces-are-w...
Aces Are White, Aros Are Green, But Spades Are Black
On the (online) ace & aspec community’s antiblackness, once and for all.

Right off the bat is my piece about the Fifteenth Doctor. It's all about the overlap in Blackness and homoromanticism in terms of how these identities are often erased and demonised when it comes to the perception of "acceptable" asexuality

leikeliscomet.substack.com/p/the-black-...
The Black Gay Asexual Potential of the Fifteenth Doctor (And Why It Will Never Happen)
On the erasure of Black and gay asexualities, sexualisation and queer possibilities.

Well, I'm an unofficial essayist so I guess it makes the most sense to plug my Black asexual specific essays! 🧵 #aceweek

First of all it has to be Infinince or Infinity? by Terence etc. It's the end credit song of Selah and the Spades and it really sums up Selah & the Black asexual experience - 'of course you're everywhere, except where you're supposed to be' 🥲

And lastly, these lot and Im actually not gonna elaborate on here actually x
In terms of headcanon, I have to say the Fifteenth Doctor. That's an achillean asexual Black man i dont care what you lot say! 😭Read The Black Gay Asexual Potential of the Fifteenth Doctor available on substack! And i support sapphic asexual Fugitive propaganda too xx

I have to give my props to my girl Selah Summers. She was the first canon darkskin Black girl to be aroace AND a lead asexual character. Whilst she's technically "problematic" rep, she was an older gen z, messy, multifaceted, entertaining character and I love her so much🥰
