King, police abolition is not about defunding every department instantly. It's about a gradual process o strategically reallocating resources, funding and responsibility away from police and toward community based models of safety, support and prevention. The people who respond to crises in our community should be people who are best equipped to deal with those crisis.

Friend I want to echo that last statement and dig down a little further. Crime isn't random. Most off the time, it happens when someone has been unable to meet their basic needs through other means. By shifting money away from police and toward services that actually meet those needs, we'll be able to get to a place where we won't need to rob banks.

This is bigger than just police brutality; it's about how the prison industrial complex, the drug war, immigration law and the web of policy, law and culture that forms our criminal justice system has destroyed millions o lives, and torn apart families. Cops don't prevent crime, they cause it, through ongoing violent disruption of our communities.

One day I *will* full-on pet him, but for now, as comfortable as he is being around us, and eating from our hands, or even trying to climb up on us when we have food, when there *isn't* food involved, he has absolutely no interest in us. Purely transactional relationship 🙄

No cause it's been long enough that he knows we'd never hurt him, so he doesn't run away from us *at all*, but he's totally prepared to try and pull food away if we start moving to take it from him, so he's on guard, but not actually threatened. He's so fucking cute

Funnily enough, as my time off was coming to a close, I smoked a little weed, and me and the fam had a candlelit night of chilling on the porch. If any cinematographers out there are struggling to find that *drive* to grab the camera and start shooting, try just hanging out in candlelight more often
