Why should Ontarians pay to educate Americans? Even if they did understand how tariffs work they have no say in what Trump does. The average person is powerless against an authoritarian regime. Peaceful protesters are considered terrorists. As an Ontarian I disagree with Ford’s wasteful spending.
Trump’s tariffs are devastating US farmers. But he doesn’t care about Americans. As long as he hurts Canadian steel, aluminum and softwood lumber industries in his attempt to cripple our economy, American loses are minor collateral damage. His lust for power and land is sickening.
In my opinion, if Trump gets away with pardoning Maxwell, this will become the defining moment in history when the point of no return was irrevocably surpassed. Democracy will be dead.
Or maybe it was the sheltering of pedophiles? There are many points along this slippery decline when it became just that much harder to resist the slide, to hold onto any hint of sanity.
Is there a way back? Or has democracy fallen too far to recover? What was/is the point of no return? #democracy
Maybe it was John Roberts granting Trump immunity, or DOGE’s crusade against all things not white, or the militarization of ICE and deployment of US troops against Americans. Maybe the turning point came when the least qualified were given positions of power and media was sued for reporting facts.
