I work in an inner city hospital with a large trauma population. The violence is still pervasive. It should still be top of priorities.

You don’t see crime as an ongoing problem. I still do. Despite overall decline in murders, I see the young survivors of gun violence daily in my hospital. It’s horrific.

There needs to be better support services for these kids. And deterrents from the cycle of poverty - lack of education and jobs, lack of parental responsibility, drugs and gang activity and lack of ramifications.
