I love seeing these magazines that we never got in the US

From adventurous trios on the cover of MSX FAN magazine (shared earlier today) to now this, a most knightly sonic in wooden form for the cover of BEEP Mega Drive in 1992.

A new phase of Mega Drive, the issue proclaims! Konami entering the Mega Drive market, Sega CD, Sonic 2, and Landstalker.
A lovely and vibrant issue of BEEP! Mega Drive with a wooden painted Sonic on horseback (standing the horses back!) and holding a lance and pointing dramatically to the side. No doubt indicating the new phase of hoped for success for the Mega Drive in Japan, which was struggling against PC Engine and Super Famicom.

I know nothing about this game but the box art makes me want to play it.

I played through the rice field last night. Definitely creepy.

Random Game from the Collection #997

Super Smash TV for Genesis

I picked this up after playing it for a Retrovaniacs score challenge, although we played the SNES version for that. I wasn't familiar with it at all prior to that.

Anyone a fan of this game?

This game/series doesn't get enough love. One of my all-time favorites.

I'm just sharing this so I can easily find it later, and so others can also check out some of the recommended demos that @wholesomegames.com comments.

The latest edition of Steam Next Fest is underway! As always, there are so many cool new demos to sort through, so I'll use this thread to keep track of a few I'm interested in. Devs and fans, please reply with your recommendations!

There are first person games I will play, but it's never my preference.
latetogaming.bsky.social
For action-adventure, exploration, and narrative-driven games I prefer third-person.

For platformers and beat'em ups I tend to prefer side-scrolling.

For RPGs either top-down or third-person, depending on the type.

First-person is the one that can cause me to skip a game entirely.

Darksiders for PS3

This is one of those games I know very little about, but picked up because it was cheap. The hack and slash genre is one I do enjoy sometimes, so it has potential.

Anyone played this? How is it?

This is a fantastic deal

Do you recommend the original version or Master Collection version?
latetogaming.bsky.social
There is no denying that this game has great cover art (it's VERY Ultra games), but I've never actually played it. Or any other game from a Metal Gear series.
latetogaming.bsky.social
I've been wanting to play Wandering Sword. I wonder if any of these other games are worthwhile.

Still Wakes the Deep is my top recommendation from that list. After that, The Quarry. I think it's a game you'll appreciate.

This looks like something I need.

Final Fantasy I-VI Collection - Anniversary Edition for Switch

I'm really not a Final Fantasy fan, but I figured this was a good collection to pick up to maybe change that.

Which game from this collection is your favorite?

I decided to join in on Shelfie Sunday.

I'm kicking things off with a big one. This shelf has most of my collector's editions, deluxe editions, and other editions that are too big to go on my normal shelves.
