I do get that angle of it, but to me it often really reads like people just think they threw more money at it to make it look better.

Either way, even then it's very reliant on the teams skill level, planning and so many other factors, that just saying "wow budget" is simplifying it too much.

It's a silly assumption, that more money means more quality. You also see this all the time with anime where people see a great scene and talk about "wow the budget on this".

No, it's just talented people working on this.

Thanks, I do like how the cat turned out on page 1, but I feel like I need to find a better balance for the other panels, as it looks too busy and messy. I think I was kinda afraid to let parts of the panels simply be white, in fear of it looking empty, but it helps with readability.

Thank you. Yeah, when I think about my favorite art style, it basically is specifically manga art. I don't know how it happened, but my art style has evolved into a style without outlines over the years. Not to completely abandon it, but I do feel the urge to do more line art from now on.

Whenever I draw something in manga style, I get the urge to (mostly) drop colors and focus on drawing in black and white (almost) exclusively.

But then I return to it anyway and start coloring, while whining about it.
