The Joint National Security Committee JCNSS wrote to the Housing Minister to stop the super Chinese Embassy.

On Monday, the Security Minister claims there're many "nonsense" about the embassy plans, 🤨 we wonder if the Government Minister thinks the 22 MPs on the Security Committee are sensible?

How could the Labour minister claim the Chinese embassy completely unrelated to a case so crucial to the national security? This government totally underestimated the risk and we the Lib Dems should have Labour accountable on the matter. #China #NotoChineseEmbassy

Shocking!!! The Government minister says the Chinese super embassy- Old Royal Mint is totally unrelated to the Chinese Spy Case and "completely unrelated to anything in it".

Utterly absurd! As Luke Taylor MP says - it'll facilitate #China espionage in the UK and a base for transnational repression.

The libdemshk team are very concerned and upset to see the vile personal attacks from Tommy Robinson on Daisy Cooper MP. She raised important questions on threats from China and the populist far right on UK's national security at PMQs.

We can always learn something from the past. If we compare the protest in Georgia recently and those in Hong Kong in 2014 & 2019, there are lots of similarities. Drawing this comparison can help the young generation in how to tackle the challenge in the future.

I urge liberal democracies governments not to be fooled by Beijing's claim that the LGBT 'no' vote demonstrates it's not a rubber-stamp legislature.

The reality is Beijing has FULL CONTROL playing an act which ignores the rule-of-law in #HongKong.

After failing to address alleged spying, we must take a stand by blocking the new giant embassy which'll compromise national security & safety of exiles & Hong Kongers in the UK.

Really saddened and horrified by the news. The tension of Gaza had affected the community relations in our country. We can disagree on foreign policy but the bottom line is we should not resolve it in violence.

In China, digital ID is used to restrict movements, restrict work and deploy social score to control who you might want to make friends with. Just like Black Mirror S3E1.

Without proper consultation, without a digital bill of rights, we're glad the Lib Dems say NO to Mandatory ID.

Keir Starmer says everyone in the UK will be required to have mandatory digital ID. That’s not the kind of country we want to be.

Liberal Democrats have always stood up to defend civil liberties against government overreach.

We will fight tooth and nail to oppose these plans too.

Just a thought during a weekday. I learnt this line from a senior colleague some years ago: if you don’t have anything which can add value in a discussion or debate, you better just shut up.

And another line: pointless bitching around publicly is never helpful in campaigning.
