Hi! I'm Alex, a game dev who's just learning how to code, and that's what this account will all be about! I use Godot to do my code, and I make my pixel art using Pixilart.
My current game I'm working on is a simple beat-'em-up to practise coding and pixel art in general.

Problem number one: The textured background is showing up behind my sprite and I don't know how to get rid of it
Problem number two: I need the sprites to be in boxes so that it doesn't jut to the right during animation
I'll figure this out in the morning, I've got to go to bed.
I think I figured it out.
If Godot is open and you edit the files or folders by adding or deleting shit, everything corrupts.
So all I have to do is save and quit to project list, close Godot for extra safety, then add the shit I want to, and reopen.
Makes sense in all reality.
Okay so I restarted the whole thing and every single file corrupted and I am very confused
I am going to try again, but if it turns out that Godot can't run on my Chromebook for some reason, I don't quite know what I'll do
(except probably move to using Godot on my tablet / phone or something)
I figured it out!
Turns out, I have TWO storage devices on my Chromebook
One that I can't access using my Chromebook
And the other that's called 00000000000000000000 cafe food 2019, which I CAN access
Keep in mind that I did not name this, since I had no idea it existed till now
Finished the sprite sheet for the player character!
(I think. This is my first time doing this, but it looks right)
I appreciate it, but I'm kinda enjoying the smaller pixel art style!
In hindsight, I am not good enough at pixel art to animate in this good enough detail, so I'm switching to smaller sprites and ditching this entirely
I really need to move on and work on the other animations, but I've reached the point where I'm okay with the idle sprite

It's fucking DRAG AND DROP I can't TAKE THIS anymore
How do I get a file OFF of my laptop and ON TO my Godot I CANNOT take this anymore

Little update:
It's been like 6 hours and all I've been able to do is draw ONE SPRITE
I can't even import it into the game because I'm inept
Thank God I've just been flailing around for an hour
Ooh, sounds good! I'm gonna give it a whirl, thank you!
Considering I'm CLEARLY not gonna practice drawing, I'm just gonna code a simple game so I can get away with simple, ugly drawings.
Oh, and I tried coding not in Scratch but I don't have a desktop and Chromebooks are useless for any person's practical personal use
So I'd lose the original game I loved.
It was pretty much dead anyway - I'm on a coding break till I practise digital art anyway (which I still haven't done (just as I suspected)) so this was bound to happen.
Hopefully I'll be able to get that card game up in a decade or so with my procrastination
Oh yeah, probably didn't have to say this, but because of the thing-a-ma-bob that Nintendo got on summoning creatures to battle for you, Vita Nova is officially dead.
I wish it didn't have to be, I could probably rework it to fit, but the main idea of the game was a monster-catching RPG -
Gonna take a break from coding for quite a bit, simply because I don't like how my sprites look.
Hopefully, I'm gonna get to drawing soon so I can improve, and then I can start working on that fish in a barrel game, I really like the concept
I think it'd be cool if there was a card game where you chose the cards you got from your deck whenever you draw.
Just have to do some miiinor rewriting of approx. HALF the code to add three types because yes, that is officially now happening.
Most myths are probably gonna end up having three types, some having two, and I really doubt that ANY myth is going to be monotype.
Oh yeah, I don't think I ever revealed the 24th type!
It's the Emotion type.
It has now been officially added to the type chart google sheet and doc.
During turn changeover, the previously visible cards are hidden and you can choose to move them once the same amount of squares as their movement number (diagonal movement is not allowed)
New card game idea
Called "Fish in a Barrel"
3 types of card: Barrel, Fish and Shoot
Shoot attacks the opponent's field
Fish summons a new fish card to your field
Barrel protects fish cards on your field
Field is 7X2 for each player
When it's your turn, fish cards on your field are visible
Well, got SOMETHING done today
Even if it was just fixing my own mistakes.
I might make upgraded versions of some concept art and share it, IDK yet
Might draw some concept art in Ibis instead of quickly, roughly sketched pencil
