i'm shocked to realise i'm the same age as jd vance but not sure whether it's because i'm surprised he's not a crusty old reactionary fart or that he's not a 4chan-pilled zoomer embryo neckbeard with a fedora

yeah, it's elagabulus, the story isn't particularly credible in its specifics as it only survives in a medieval greek epitome of a lost classical source that recorded a lot of scandalous gossip, but it is evidence that people did request this in the past, whether or not it was elagabulus him/herself

this is where i tip over into sounding like a conspiracy theorist in that, if i were trying to come up with a method to make sure people couldn't think any thoughts that hadn't been manufactured by capital, i'd be getting everyone hooked on llms

plutarch: 'so julius caesar. epilated his entire body, known as "every woman's man and every man's woman". ok scandal press but look no smoke from the vestal virgins' hearth without fire ok julia, better to stab yourself with some e and go get wifed up by the king of bithynia than stabbed by brutus'

Plutarch's Parallel Lives but it's lives of people if they did/didn't transition

WERE THEY CHASERS? ancient philosophy edition

Plato: you'd think yes but actually tons of hang-ups

Aristotle: sleeps with trans girls who all think he's an egg but is in fact just genuinely curious about what hrt is like

Socrates: irrelevant because who'd fuck him anyway

Pythagoras: hell yes

'Socrates distinguished the true transexual from the AGP through dialogue, Plato held one must approach the Form of gender, Heraclitus that gender flows into gender to create gender; Democritus called him a fucking tenderqueer. But one can truly observe that trannies spontaneously generate from mud'

Yes but Laura I need to know what aristotle's opinions on the term transsexual vs transgender were

now my name and gender are as legally locked in as they can be and i'm no longer a us citizen. anyway. so, time, huh?

was reminded that 5 years ago i just up and went to the US consulate and changed my name and gender and you could do that then. this unleashed a long period of chaos with the state department wanting to nullify my name change but still

confession: i only transitioned because i was heading towards 40 and if i hadn't, i'd have had to start posting on facebook

explains why semicolons have always been my favourite punctuation...

Semicolon use or its absence correlates with the author's attitude towards trans women

we're not sure he said this though, all we have is Aquinas' rebuttal to a 12th-century Latin translation of a lost text by Averroes which drew on an alleged Arabic summary of the lost περι τρανσσεξυαλιων

i went to clock and ordered a big clock and they just gave me a picture of you
poppyhaze.bsky.social
Clock was a Swedish state-owned competitor to McDonalds run by SARA, a spinoff of the Swedish "System Bolgat" the state alcohol monopoly which branched out into fast food

Their Big Clock was a copy of the Big Mac, but eventually competition with kebabs drove them outta business

i wonder if it was pronounced 'slock'. my wife knew a guy in sweden who was called 'slark' because his parents named him for clark gable and thought a c- was always an s- in english

it's fun being an opinionated transsexual on the internet but i would never want to do it so much that other people, or i myself, began to take me seriously

boss is very keen that i use chatgpt to search for things so to keep him happy i tried it and in the end the best i can say about it is if you use it for simple queries it can almost function kind of like a search engine now that normal search engine results are full of chatgpt-generated slop
