I'm gonna put this out there because I see it happen to so many people across several platforms (A thread).
Don't come to Social Media to get upset. You should only be here to have experiences you enjoy about things you enjoy.
latest Alfabusa community post on YT got me like:

Reading a book about the First Portuguese Republic, and it is genuinely baffling how much the popular perception of it has been poisoned by Estado Novo era propaganda. Like, no bro, the Republicans weren't worse than the actual literal Fascists.
When Salazar awoke from his coma, he was never told that Marcelo Caetano had replaced him as leader of Portugal's Estado Novo. The Regime kept Salazar sealed in a dome of misinformation with fake newspapers, ambassador visits and cabinet meetings. He died without ever finding out.
Me and my friends came up with a choose-your-own-adventure #inktober prompt list! There's some 60 odd prompts in this branching pathway, so it's way too big for just us. Any and all interested artists are welcome to join in!
Here in Portugal in a lot of people actively dislike Ronaldo. I wouldn't say he's necessarily an actively malicious figure, but he does exude a lot of those toxic masculinity, hustle culture vibes. Especially in recent years, the way he presents himself has gotten progressively worse.
The good part of the Internet is that it gave everyone a voice. The bad part of the Internet is that it gave everyone a voice.
And it also gives the Government implicit power to define what those restrictions are, so there's no guarantee that they won't come back to bite you in the future.
Same difference as far as this discussion is concerned. You cannot set any sort of restrictions to who can vote, because those restrictions will always be bound to unfairly disadvantage someone. (1/2)
But you do understand that believing those things does not correlate to literacy, right? There's plenty of bigoted college graduates, just as there are tons of high-school dropouts who don't think the Earth is flat.
Lots of people seem to operate under the assumption that discrimination is fine as long as it enfranchises the people they like and disenfranchises the people they dislike. This is not abou team politics, it's about fundamental human rights and accepting that everyone has a right to be heard.

i dont care if you were disagreeing with the almighty thor, literacy requirement for voting is a tool of oppression and a human rights violation.
I'm not even talking about the Jungle Cyrodiil stuff. I am much more interested on how all these different cultures in Cyrodiil would interact with eachother. What kind of art would they make, how their views on the world would be, that sort of stuff.
As much as I like TES games (they were the first RPGs I ever played), it annoys me that they write about all the cool cultural influences and then we never get to seem them in game. Someone who engages with Skyrim at a surface level will never see the Empire as anything other than a Rome stand-in
Oh TES draws from all over. From example, time is divided into Kalpas.
When I learned about Ayn Rand I had never and still have not ever wished to strangle someone with my bare hands so hard in my entire life
Only time I've been glad I live on the islands and not the mainland lmao
So many people think that the trivializing of violence is something we put behind us, when it's something we're still doing right now. And to be honest, I think the current iteration is a lot more insidious
Maybe the real Disco Elysium was the drugs we took along the way (jk I cannot bring myself to disappoint Kim like that)
The notion of an "average" necessitates that a large chunk of whatever you're measuring is under that average (sometimes A LOT of it is, insert Spiders Georg meme here). Using the average as "the goal you should be striving for/surpass" is sometimes just counterproductive or outright harmful.
If you find a corner of the online space you don't enjoy, you don't have to engage with it. Ignore it. The most powerful aspect of these platforms is that you can choose which parts of them you see and engage with. You have all the power in your hands. Use it wisely.

Remember that most times, the people on the other side of the screen are not all that different from you. We are all here because we want to share cool stuff we have with the world. Social media opens your eyes to how vast the world and the human experience is. Learn to accept and to cherish that.
