If the idea is to onboard new fans, that's it. Not some stiff remake
MCC is THE best package and only good release (after a whole rework) since Bungie gave up the mantle of responsibility
Honestly, why not just repackage MCC?

Halo MCC Evolved! With:
Halo CE/Anniversary/And Remake
Halo 2/Anniversary
Halo 3
Halo Reach
Halo ODST
Halo 4
AND NOW Halo 5.

DLC for those who already own MCC.
Biggest issue gotta be how little value there is in a bear 1 to 1 Halo CE Remake. If you're on Playstation, I guess, sure. But Xbox and PC have MCC.
But the Forerunners became defined. And their architecture became generically sci-fi as opppsed to the grand cathedrals.

I guess tbf, even Bungie wanted to reveal the answer. Developmental issues were a blessing
Genuinely, the biggest, unfixable mistake 343 ever made was revealing who the Forerunners were. I remember being enthralled by them cause they were so mysterious. Helped by Bungie themselves being back forth on them. Were they ancient, super-advanced humans, or something else?
More weapons is cool! And four seat warthog? Cool! There are cool changes.

But the assault rifle is 32 rounds.
Thr forerunner architecture is squeaky clean.
The vistas are not as otherworldly.
Sprint

I don't even hate sprint in Halo, but for a remake? Come on
We've only seen one level, but a big goal of Halo Campaign Evolved is close, but not 100% remake (i.e boxes in different areas, new weapons, etc.). And it's such a death by a thousand paper cuts situation.
I tend to be more favorable to remakes. Don't think they're that big of a deal, especially when there are means to enjoy the original AND the remake is different.

But when it does veer towards that near 1:1, it's annoying.

I don't think I'll ever forget my Haitian grandmother asking, in creole, if that was Jehovah Witnesses at the door, and if so, not to open for them.

No matter the language, age, or cultural boundaries, no one likes dealing with Jehovah Witnesses
Damn

KBBQ and Hotpot is pretty good
