As the opposition speaks in support of genuine community consultation it’s worth noting that it was the Liberal Party that argued in 1979 for a 28 day exhibition period rather than the 14 days that Labor was proposing. I was a little shocked to read that in Hansard last week.

Mark Speakman (libs) speaking in support of the planning reforms and of developers. the poor pets, who are facing rising costs and that’s what’s holding back housing supply. Using the old “regulatory cost” arguments which comes from research that’s been debunked.
