There is one advantage British Explosion Day has over US Explosion Day. It gets dark earlier, so people can get their explosions over with in the early evening

I've never seen anyone who actually used it, but I ran into some people who wrote reports on me as if my pronouns were he/her. For extra fun ambiguity, they were referencing my ability to care for my kid (she/her)

This leads to fun situations where people who are 47 and anxious about ageing are incredibly flattered to be asked for ID when they buy a few cans of G&T on a Saturday evening

I don't know about the US, but in the UK you only have to show ID in the supermarket if you want to buy something age restricted like alcohol. And even then, if you are very clearly a doddering old fart, they don't bother
