Z-A is good fun though, I think it’s my first time really getting into a Pokemon game since Sword and Shield?

BUG ME FOREVER.

It was lovely working with Chris over the past few months as we did all we could to build something cool. But I know they're going to kill it at Polygon 🔥

I guess I should say something?

I started at @polygon.com yesterday. Really love the team at @thegamerweb.bsky.social and will still obviously be bugging them in Slack (sorry, Jade), but excited to join this really rad group of people.

Rooting for this to go well. The stories that I wish more sites had the capacity to tell instead of chasing SEO garbage to keep the lights on.

The site is an experiment to see if an outlet specializing in high-production value longform feature stories can work through a subscription model. The oral histories will always be free, and we’ll supplement them with bonus stories for paid subscribers.

For the Shadow of the Colossus story, we interviewed 14 people including project leads Fumito Ueda and Kenji Kaido, hired Gravity Rush concept artist Takeshi Oga to illustrate the cover, and put together a 10,000-word story with help from @milkman.bsky.social @shmuplations.bsky.social and others.

I haven’t played much of it yet but the art style of Absolum is really something. It’s a novel twist on the genre I’ve not seen done before either.

I get it but I really dislike the "the political climate is tense" phrasing the same way I don't like the "Gaza war" phrasing - we're foregoing that one side is people who want to live and the other side is people who have more power and both the means and intent to destroy and harm.

Gotta love ADHD because I start my afternoon ready to write an article with a strict deadline and then I suddenly wind up on the wikipedia page for mongooses having no idea how I got there.

I love Hades 2 so much but I cannot stop thinking about how the final moments rob Melinoe of such deserved agency.

Here’s far too many conflicted words on the ending. #Hades2

Big spoilers obviously.

There’s so so much. Keep on trying new takes on existing runs to see what other small conversations I can find.

Tore through this in a couple of days. It’s a difficult read at points but so justified in its anger towards the world we live in today.

My heart was firmly in my throat during the final act. 🪱

Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel remain two of the finest 3D platformers ever made, but the obscene $70 price tag for the new bundle makes it a difficult experience to review.

It feels like two classics are being gated by a much higher price and Nintendo knows it can get away with such a thing.

I’ve been broken for the last ~24 hours but my first big TGS piece has just dropped.

I spoke to Resident Evil Requiem director, Nakanishi-san, and producer, Kumazawa-san, about returning to Raccoon City, and what they learnt from 5 & 6, and revisiting Outbreak.
