I need to like make a custom 3D printed weird robot mask with like LED eyes with eye-tracking and expression dials and stuff. And I need a big fancy dress to go along with it so I can look like some weird ethereal cyborg when I’m out and about.

I just mean in terms of the progression having a set path and timeline that wouldn’t work in a roguelike structure where you have to start over and over again potentially indefinitely to try to reach an end

I think having the only two games I’ve worked on outside of my own be roguelikes has caused the way I look at my own game design to change a lot lol. I can see the ways that stuff *could* be done like a roguelike

Like cmon. Game has a lobby in a giant abstract tower you visit every night in your dreams before going up to the next floor? Perfect setup for randomized runs up to the top of the tower. But that’s not really how I paced the story and I prefer linear stories over roguelites anyways.

I keep thinking about how my game would actually work really well as a roguelike conceptually but then I’d have to restructure the entire plot to not have a set linear progression and that’s just. Ehhhhh. Maybe I’ll make a side mode minigame thing one day.

This happens to me a lot with dreams about nonexistent sonic games too. It’s funky. I keep dreaming about a weird sonic RPG that still has like platforming and stuff but it’s like Zelda game structure. I also dream about weird Wind Waker but mmo type games a lot too.

Now that I’ve redesigned Jira I need to redesign Beryllia. I wanna draw Beryllia after a good few years of living on the run because she becomes a lot more like feral and bitter. Maybe bitter’s not the best word. Just not as nervous and polite as she initially was. More willing to brawl on command
