Congrats to all competitors. My small accomplishment below & #36 in the world. :)
Thanks to A71VV for the 20m SSB Q last night. Great to visit Doha agn via RF. Trio of 7300, KPA1500, Hexbeam up 32' continues to bust pileups. :)
From 2010(ish), along with Curt, WR5J, in foreground, and me in the background pointing at something, we are introducing kids to amateur radio field day. He and I (and few others) have been members of Seattle Auxiliary Comm (ACS) since 1998. Always great to inspire young people to get on the air! :)
Just as a reminder -- get your spare parts now.
Big thanks to Elecraft for the firmware & client software updates for the KPA1500. Now can auto tune / manage 32 antennas selections, among other features. Built like a tank.

One of the best amps on the market. None are perfect. Elecraft support is excellent.

IC705 tip of the day: Customize the [A], [B], [▲], and [▼] keys for quick access to frequently used functions via:
MENU > Set > Function > Remote MIC Key.

Very handy.
FYI -- sorry to see them go.
Yep -- when the grid fails, ham radio doesn’t. Amateur radio operators provide emergency comms, foster international goodwill, and mentor the next tech generation. #HamRadio #EmergencyComm #AmateurRadiorocks
Congrats to all competitors. My small accomplishment below & #36 in the world. :)
Thanks to Paulo, 5X4E, for the 20m SSB Q last night from Seattle to Gulu — 8,700 miles. Check out his QRZ page and read about his inspiring work at St. Judes Children’s Home. 73
Thanks to Raisa, R1BIG for the 20m SSB Q at 3F3RRC in Panama. :)
Sad news. Glad to hear that staff are safe. 73.
Tnx to 9K2HS for the 20m SSB Q this morning. Always nice to visit Kuwait. Good to talk you with again, Hamid. 73!
Great Straight Key Month! Used my 1934 bug. Achieved my goal of a Grand Sweep. Looking forward to next year. 73. de KK7PW, #7209

On this MLK, Jr Bday, and an otherwise uninspiring DC day, I send a big thanks to all radio ops I know or knew for their friendship, inspiration, insights, fun, etc. I value each. And to the few with selective bad manners, you know who you are and can piss off (as my UK buddies might say). :) 73.
FYI -- a great resource -- access the entire archive of 73 Magazine. Read for many years and had a gift subscription sent to Jamaica '91-'93 as a Peace Corps Volunteer and a member of Jamaican Amateur Radio Association. 73 Wayne, W2NSD (SK) et al.

Yes, but not together. I'd be interested in knowing more about your setup -- what functions do you use the most with SD shortcuts? 73.
