it honestly feels like something is moving my body because i repeat in my head keep going and then my body just stops and makes me go back to touch they object that i “have” to touch again and i have no control over it

i have tics that also hurt quite a bit. my tics at the moment include rapidly moving my neck to the side, this one hurts so much, repetitive movements, face grimacing, shoulder shrugging. it’s not quirky or fun to have ocd or tics

it’s mentally and physically exhausting. simple tasks take me at least 30 minutes. going to the living room from my room in the morning takes at least 30 minutes

it’s like someone else is controlling your body. my mind says no you don’t have to go back and touch that doorknob but my body MAKES me. i have got bruises on my legs because i have to hit them against the couch sometimes. i injure myself a lot. i have to constantly touch things over and over again

ocd is not some quirky thing like “oh i have to wash my hands a lot tehe” or “i have to keep everything organized i must have ocd” it’s much more complex than that. it’s saying a ritual before you leave and enter a room and having to do it again and again if you mess it up
