This may be uncomfortable to hear, but it’s essential to say clearly…there is no such thing as a “non-racist” white person.

Whiteness itself is not just a neutral identity.

It’s a social construct built historically in opposition to Blackness.

Until white folx stop mistaking escape for growth and pain for moral authority, they’ll keep founding movements that look like progress but function like, their old defender, the myth of white supremacy.

they recreate the same harm under new branding.

They repackage domination as dialogue, control as collaboration, and fragility as faith.

Escaping isn’t healing.

Leaving isn’t liberation.
kimcrayton1.bsky.social
Their every decision, no matter how “progressive” or unifying they appear, will still center their own safety, comfort, and image.

When white people who have not reckoned with their complicity in the myth of white supremacy begin leading new “revolutionary” spaces,
kimcrayton1.bsky.social
But let’s be honest, no one who’s just “escaped” MAGA, Christian nationalism, or any other conservative stronghold, particularly if your reasons for leaving are the result of harm you’re now experiencing due to this current administration, is equipped to lead a movement.
kimcrayton1.bsky.social
The other understands that they’re not the ones who need protecting. One recognizes that what we’re living through is a collective harm; the other can only focus on their personal pain.

And I get it, personal survival will always come before collective liberation.

who actually hold values of equity and justice as foundational to their ethics and humanity.

One group behaves like hungry, abused, cornered animals you find abandoned. They need nourishment, but they’re so afraid that they bite the hand trying to feed them.

Learning just how many “good white folx” who consider themselves “progressive” or “liberal” are “escaping” the violence and control of conservative religious beliefs needs to be studied, because their approach is very different from white folx...

Until white “progressives” and “liberals” reckon with that, all you’re doing is reenacting the same tired playbook.

One where whiteness must always center itself, even in resistance.
kimcrayton1.bsky.social
You say you want a revolution, but what you really want is to feel radical without risking your comfort.

You want to hold on to your moral superiority while refusing to examine how whiteness still defines your methods, your targets, and your sense of urgency.
kimcrayton1.bsky.social
At least the former are confronting systems and not just venting their entitlement in public.

Y’all are absolutely exhausting. 🤦🏾‍♀️

And with every one of these performative acts, you prove, over and over again, that you can’t be trusted to lead or even sustain meaningful change.
kimcrayton1.bsky.social
I actually have more respect for the folx in inflatable costumes protesting mass deportations in the streets of Portland than for those screaming in an auditorium at an individual who’s not leading this country.
kimcrayton1.bsky.social
It shows how deeply the myth of white supremacy is still operating through you, even when you swear you’re on “the right side.” You’ve learned to confuse visibility with impact, and disruption with transformation.
kimcrayton1.bsky.social
What it actually demonstrates is that you’re still not ready to have the “revolution” you keep screaming for.

Because yelling at a Black woman who currently holds no executive power doesn’t make you radical…it makes you reckless.
kimcrayton1.bsky.social
White “progressives” and “liberals” exercising their First Amendment rights by protesting at Kamala Harris’s book tour events isn’t the flex you think it is or having the impact you claim to want.
White ‘Resistance’ Isn’t Revolutionary. It’s Weak.

If your revolution requires the oppressed to once again prioritize the privileged,

if your “healing” requires us to silence our truth,

or make space for those who’ve yet to earn it…

then you’re not dismantling a system.

You’re just giving it a facelift.
kimcrayton1.bsky.social
generations of harm, while offering little more than words from those who caused it.

A revolution that centers the newly uncomfortable rather than the historically oppressed is not liberatory…it’s maintenance work for white supremacy.
kimcrayton1.bsky.social
But when “solidarity” becomes conditional on the comfort of those just now realizing the harm they helped sustain, it ceases to be solidarity…it’s white nonsense dressed up as progress.

This so-called Purple Revolution demands “empathy” from those who have already borne the weight of...

is not a revolution at all.

It’s a rebrand of the same violent ideology that continues to uphold the myth of white supremacy.

I understand the sentiment.

I know the desire for unity feels noble, even urgent.
kimcrayton1.bsky.social
Any revolution, purple or otherwise, that demands those impacted by harm extend the benefit of the doubt to or assume “positive intent” from those who championed, sanctioned, or ignored that harm, without observable contrition and a strategy for repair that doesn’t center them,

It’s how the myth of white male supremacy sustains itself, through the celebration of harm as history, and the erasure of those who suffer under it as collateral damage.

Until we dismantle that myth and stop mistaking peace prizes for PR campaigns then this...
