After months of late nights and early mornings, I'm back with a new app. This time inspired by my lovely Surface Pro 12-inch.

Introducing Markerpad, a digital scratchpad where your ideas, unstructured notes, diagrams, and more begin.

Check it out now: apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nh0w...
cool, what tech stack did you use for the windows apps?
After using iOS 26 for a few weeks, I think Apple missed the mark on Liquid Glass. Some effects make UI and text unreadable. It’s particularly painful in Safari. The elements are frantically switching between light/dark as you scroll a page.

Uncharacteristically unpolished UI for Apple.
Fascinating. Does this happen often in Canucks hockey? Or is it something only Foote has been doing?
Wow BΓ©dard is really 0-5 against #Canucks? Clearly he’s cheering us on his childhood team while in the middle of the game 🀣
Reminds me of the no-quit attitude that got us into the playoffs a couple years ago. Let’s keep this going πŸ’ͺ🏽πŸ’ͺ🏽
In my 10 years of building apps, one of the most important things I learned is I hate seams.

Seams are friction. Seams are papercuts. Seams are breaks in your UX. And one seam is slow app launch.

I work hard to keep my apps' launches seamless. I wish all Windows apps were seamless too.
My favourite coffee beans, JJ Bean, is now at $20 per bag. And my second favourite 49th parallel is now at $20 as well, up from $13.99 a couple weeks ago 🫣

Coffee bean prices have spiked 😭 #vancouver #coffee

There is an effective way around it, but you don’t want to use the effective way πŸ˜… Microsoft Store signs your app for free. And a store dev account was recently made free too. So the cost savings is huge
I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Notifications on iOS need a revamp. It’s been stale for years.
Would you know how this compares with a WPF approach? I’m mulling over what framework to use for a new project and it relies heavily on system tray. I’m fact, the tool would mostly be a process with a tray icon. Not much happening in the app window.
AI tech bubble in full force. No purpose. Not solving any real world problem. It’s sad
I've owned 6 Surfaces in my life. I recall the fanfare for each launch. Meanwhile, the SP12" launched a few months ago with what seemed to be one of the quietest launches ever.

So how is it possible that this may be the best Surface I've owned? #microsoft

Surface Pro 12-inch Review – the best Surface yet?
It’s been 5 years since I bought a Surface Go 2 and reviewed it. It’s time I review its spiritual successor: The Surface Pro 12-inch.

🀣 I'm hoping I will get an email on Monday from 3 different teams asking for more info
It’s unfortunate that Azure Portal running on Microsoft Edge running on Windows on Surface Pro 12” has bugs like this. Meanwhile, everything runs fine on my iPhone.
Had fun making a website for Markerpad πŸ™‚ I should probably have used some AI to make it nicer, but I think this turned out okay!

Nice review! I love the pen as well on my surface pro 12-inch. I love it so much I made a new scratchpad app designed for students and office workers, and it's optimized for the surface pen. markerpadapp.com

Nice review of the Surface Pro 12-inch. I really like mine. Regarding apps, I made a free app to work with the Surface Pen, great for students or office workers. It has some support for Japanese language, but let me know if it can be improved. markerpadapp.com Please check it out!

I remember thinking the front office was in it just for the memes when they draft dpetey. But man, this kid might just end up amongst the most popular canucks swedish dmen
I have two windows devices: a Lenovo mini PC at home with a single 27 inch monitor. And then I have the SP 12”. I use both for dev work.

The SP 12” is so fast that I actually really enjoy developing on it.
No problem πŸ™‚ glad you found the issue!
