I think the problem is the auto-hate has set in too hard.

Mention the letter A followed by an I for any reason and people just lock up, start foaming at the mouth and there's nothing to be done about it. The heretic words have been spoken and they must now rage.

There's a chance it is some dolling up for the shareholders.

One of the tricky parts about modern AI discourse is a lot of not-genai stuff gets lumped in. some of it is throwing terms around (remember the cooking mama biockchain incident?) Some of it is people confusing it for gen ai. It's a mess.

My expectation with most influencer-focused cons is you're either there to meet up with friends who are also going and/or hobnob with the royals.

Streaming feels a bit weird to me because on one hand? I'd like SOME growth but it's a slow process where most nights see NOTHING on that front. To the point that it can all feel quite pointless.

On the other? I remember what I'm about to stream and suddenly I'm back in the game because hell yes.

Yeah I think I get it. It's not nearly as bad for me but like...

I'm finishing my vacation for the year right now, took Monday and Tuesday off, and my mind flips between enjoying a 4 day weekend and "this feels off."

At least I handle the holidays off better.

So fun fact: I was unemployed for about 15 years, fixed it about 3 years ago.

I make damn sure to use my vacation days, but they're often spread out because being of for any long stretch of time feels downright WEIRD to me.

Ya know. I wonder if it's because at least for North America? Sonic was big in the 90sso a lot of people today grew up with that, and we're in an age where mental health is at least better known if not less stigmatized. So people are more aware it exists.
