There's, of course, no statistical correlation. No true leap in increase of these cases. Data is poor and circumstantial. But look at this story, it's so awful. They were literally using this thing to carry out their actions. How can you deny this?

You have to put yourself in the mindset of people then. A bunch of technology companies come out of the woodwork with some technology no one had seen before, that's appealing to young people, and makes a lot of money. They can be alluring and violent, and they don't seem to care.

For the record, I think the video game panic and the AI panic are exactly alike:
- They were both based on newer technology.
- They were both claimed to be massively addictiv.
- All stories were about young people.
- All stories were anecdotal, extreme outliers, and poorly supported by data.

If you were making a film in the near-ish future with this, you'd have to try to tame the model's unexpected biases by drawing all the shapes and references yourself as an art director. Sort of how you already do if you're working with animators.

At the moment, I think using anything like this for e.g. animation might require an artist guiding everything very carefully. I posted the example about how I love the first two seconds of this video, and then the model design falls apart for me.

Then again they're putting this one out for free, so I imagine they must have optimized this one massively, at least up to 6 seconds (They're also fairly low resolution, too).

I think these videos are fairly consistent up to 6 seconds. The problem is the length gap, I suppose. Supposedly, there are research models much more expensive and much longer, and Genie 3 is realtime and up to a minute, but the problem has been there for a long time.
