Interesting study about effect on food when changing freezer temperature from -18 C to -15 C (and others, but -15C is a sweet spot).

Will change my freezers and monitor. 10% energy reduction would be huge if adopted more globally

Friendly reminder that Tidal ($10.99) is now cheaper than Spotify ($11.99), delivers better audio quality, pays its artists 2x as much, and generally doesn't allow AI slop.

You can move your entire music library over in a matter of minutes.
Was able to get these setup for local access, then something random changed in the past week and though the Kasa app can see and control them, the TP-Link integration in #homeassistant can no longer find them. These are frustrating pieces of hardware

The Greenbelt, Wasaga Beach, now protected land in Port Hope. We should all be concerned that our environment is being sacrificed for insider profits.

Ontario Greens will keep fighting to protect our farmland and green spaces.
Yup, 100% of the time so far
No worries. Gadgetbridge still works with it, so I have options. I understand the need to focus effort. Just hoped wherever the crash was coming from would be reasonably easy to fix and fix things for a larger class of users.
Got in on this round (yay!) But connecting to original Kickstarter Pebble results in crashes (boo). Hopefully there's enough instrumentation being sent back to help fix the crashes.
Just updated @f-droid.org.web.brid.gy and saw that #Spotube (cross platform music player) has support for @listenbrainz.org ... Connected that to my @musicbrainz.org account, and am in the process of importing the @last.fm history.

Happy to move away from Spotify as a metadata source.
After 13 months, the #bosch dishwasher is having control panel problems. Won't buy another Bosch. It's been terrible since buying it. How are these the highest rated?

It's definitely worth people exploring end-to-end encrypted photo storage such as Ente. Kind of crazy how many deeply personal images are shared with companies that have no respect for their users' privacy

At Ente, your photos aren’t training anyone’s AI.
I hadn't heard of Futurehome, but I won't be buying Ring or Belkin products.

If it can't run local-only, then you never truly own the product.
Worried your cloud-controlled smart devices could be ruined by the manufacturer? You should be.

Really annoyed by "natural flavour" as an ingredient in food products. Too easy to hide crap under that positive sounding name.

Looks like one of my IKEA Parasoll sensors has started to have the battery drain issue. Too bad. Otherwise great sensors for #homeassistant sensing door opening. May try #aqara next?

Canadians are being drained of their life savings by scammers. However, investigations by financial institutions all too often end not with accountability, but with banks blaming the very customers who trusted them with protecting their money. ici.radio-canada.ca/rci/en/news/...

Might be worth spending some time living near a paper processing plant (or visit the area for a day). Paper seems clean on the consumption side, but is nasty on the production side.

The same is true for the electronic components. Just really not clear which is really better up close
Then the link process failed, but looked like it succeeded. After agreeing to the various agreements, etc.

This is causing rage at sign up. Hard to convince to keep going.
Then they got stuck at a slow load screen
