This lovely belt ferrule dates to the #EarlyMedieval period and was recovered from the Bifrons Anglo Saxon cemetery. It forms part of the KAS collection housed at Maidstone Museum.

Can you help us with this mystery object this #FindsFriday? It was found in a possible 17th century house pressed down between a joist and a chimney breast behind a wattle and daub panel. We are going to be undertaking more work to see if it might shed more light on its purpose and origins!

The museum displays local artefacts with connections to the Isle Of Sheppey as well as fossils. The museum also has a roof viewing platform with an almost 360 degree vista of the surrounding area.
