It is a "Ken" but it isn't Ken Walmsley!
kenstephenson.bsky.social
Correct on Ken Burns & Kevin Lynch.

Three #referees for @refbooks.bsky.social to identify. I'm not giving you any clues!
kenstephenson.bsky.social
Sorry I didn't put the photo up!

Everton V Ipswich 1975-76 - I'm guessing the #referee is Alex Hamill from Wolverhampton. @refbooks.bsky.social & @refereeretro.bsky.social

@refbooks.bsky.social 1975-76 season #Referee Roger Kirkpatrick booking Chelsea's Micky Droy in a Division 2 match against Bolton.

I wont insult you @refbooks.bsky.social by asking you to identify #referee Jack Taylor! From 1975/76. Also he is here giving Tottenham's Don Mcallister a telling off!
kenstephenson.bsky.social
Here are a few more photos of him without the moustache!

FA Cup 3rd Round 1975-76 January 1976 - a #referee for @refbooks.bsky.social to identify. I haven't a clue who the Linesmen are!!
kenstephenson.bsky.social
A bad couple of weeks for Liverpool - three consecutive defeats! @no1lino.bsky.social Hopefully Newcastle are starting to turn things around after losing to Liverpool & Arsenal at home!

A problem in football though is pundits saying decisions are incorrect when according to the Laws the decision was correct-eg a goal scored by Newcastle at Tottenham last season when the ball hit Joelinton on the arm accidentally before another player scored.Pundits abused the ref for being CORRECT!
kenstephenson.bsky.social
I respect that argument but it happens rarely so I don't think they needed to totally re-write the Law relating to handball.
kenstephenson.bsky.social
In general it is regarding handball but I would get rid of this nonsense about unnatural position and ruling out goals because the ball hits a player on the arm as well. It's a load of crap.
kenstephenson.bsky.social
Yup, it's a good way of dealing with it. The worst part of it is when players are penalised when the ball hits them on their outstretched arm from behind them after jumping to head the ball. I'd go back to the old rule - penalise deliberate handball only!
kenstephenson.bsky.social
Correct, he's also an utter hypocrite, he gets all huffy when he is questioned while squealing for freedom of speech when it comes to anybody who incites riots and violence. He's a vile repugnant mini Trump.
kenstephenson.bsky.social
Correct. I thought you'd recognise him! Burns was one of England's top refs in an era when England's refs were top notch!
kenstephenson.bsky.social
6 bookings in a match didn't happen often then, now it happens in most matches!

Leeds V Everton 1975-76 - a #referee (on the right of the screenshot) for @refbooks.bsky.social to identify. I reckon you'll easily identify him!
kenstephenson.bsky.social
Correct! Yes he was Welsh - he refereed Newcastle V Rangers in the 1969 Fairs Cup Semi-Final when Rangers supporters invaded the pitch in an attempt to get the match abandoned. He was better known as John (his middle name). His full name was William John Gow. I wasn't certain you'd recognise him.
kenstephenson.bsky.social
I think the goal kick law is crap as is the handball law.

@refbooks.bsky.social A well-known Welsh FIFA #referee for you to identify. It was from the 1975-76 season in his penultimate season as Football League referee.
