Skimmed the decision (nearly a 100 pages in all). Majority takes the government's evidence -- including tons of hearsay (maybe even double hearsay) -- at face value and dings the District Court for saying that events in June justify dispatching the National Guard months later.

He was convicted of 34 felony counts for fraud because he was always cooking the books. Every day, he demonstrates that lying about numbers is just his m.o. Whatever he thinks sounds good - "plausible" isn't even an afterthought.

I haven't been there since 1964 or so; my father's last trip there would have been around 1970.

My father lived to be 98. (Keeping my fingers crossed.) A few months before he died, we pulled up Street View on Google Maps and found his family's old house on Nevada Street.

My father was from El Paso - born 1916. His extended family were among the founding members of El Paso's first synagogue. My great-uncle owned a large chunk of the Chamizal back in the day.

And, my grandfather sold groceries to Pancho Villa's army. He said the soldiers loved strawberry jam. 💯🤣
