That's Hollywood in general. Women celebrities show up at public events dressed to the 9s while the men show up in jeans, a T-shirt and sneakers.

Do cliffhangers even "work"?

Sure, who shot JR galvanized the nation back in the day, but there are so many more shows that are a distraction.

Then there are seasons that pick up 2 or 3 years later make it hard to remember.

Even a year later, 8 episode seasons leaves an 11 month gap.

The lack of ads resulted in me missing new shows. That's why I subscribe to YouTube channels feature tv promos in general or for specific networks.

Which shareholders?

If companies had a healthier labor pool to hire from it increases competitors for jobs and lowers labor cost long-term. Healthy workers are more productive than sick workers--or workers with sick families.

More productive companies mean more long-term value for shareholders.

No.

The problem is not capitalism but, as usual, PEOPLE making wrong choices.

You know what's good for profits? A healthy labor force that contributes to production and not an excessive drain on resources. That's good for long-term profit.

Instead TPTB, PEOPLE make short-sighted choices.

There are humanitarians in government, but they're not the only ones.

And many humanitarians are not the best at communicating or being persuasive in debates.

A love of people is nice--for a start.

Is the problem the lack of mass education or the excess of mass MISEDUCATION by those who have a vested interest in exploiting people, Americans and nonAmericans alike?

Do funding agencies want to find wonder drugs that will cure the horrible diseases?

Or do they want to find wonder drugs that will TREAT the horrible diseases--as long as consumers keep paying for prescriptions?

Money.

If a show is popular enough to get a spin-off, then the stars of the original show are likely really popular--and expensive.

Using them on the new show is likely to be really expensive--especially since they now an entire series hinge on a successful launch.

Why, when a TV show gets a spin off, do they so often try to start it with a bad expository episode with brand new characters who are just annoying instead of some of the characters we're familiar with from the OG series. This is a rhetorical observation I don't need actual answers
