I have been buying I bonds for years. Since the numbers are cooked and I bonds are no longer a hedge against inflation it is time to get out of them. Anyone living in the real world knows inflation is not tame.

Thanks for this. The restaurants definitely had black caricatures. They were laid out in a sequence so it was supposed to tell a story as it went around the wall. I was to young back then to know what racism was. When I asked questions my dad told me to eat my breakfast.

I worked in Trinidad for several years off and on. Very few farmers raise sugar cane anymore because of how the were treated and abused to process sugar cane for rum. It's a matter of pride not to be associated with it. A friend gave me James Michener's Caribbean to read. I read all his books.

It was so hard to read and understand Uncle Tom's cabin. I was sort of surprised when Tom forgave Sambo and Quimbo for beating him as he lay dying. I understood that.

I remember in the 60's when they had Sambo restaurants with Little Black Sambo caricatures running around the wall near the ceiling. They were so racist they were driven out of business in the late 70's. Denny's bought them out.

I'm guessing that map just shows the people that could successfully navigate the system to get SNAP payments. Most red states put so many obstacles in the way even those truly in need are turned away.
