Going to say this again at the risk of being yelled at...it's not the media's job to promote a protest. That is the job of political organizers. There will be PLENTY of media coverage of the protests themselves.

And I've seen many stories about people hurt by ICE, the shutdown, and much more.

“Whenever lower courts are deciding issues of federal law and this court cannot step in, then this court ceases to be the Supreme Court,” said Andrew Adler, a Florida public defender. "The courts of appeals then become their own mini supreme courts." www.courthousenews.com/relief-for-f...
Relief for federal prisoners has justices asking if they’re always supreme
A complex jurisdictional fight was further complicated as the high court considered if Congress could prevent the justices from reviewing lower court decisions.

I'm sorry, is the Trump Administration talking to a tech platform?

Is it...requesting content moderation?
Today following outreach from @thejusticedept, Facebook removed a large group page that was being used to dox and target @ICEgov agents in Chicago.
The wave of violence against ICE has been driven by online apps and social media campaigns designed to put ICE officers at risk just for doing their jobs. The Department of Justice will continue engaging tech companies to eliminate platforms where radicals can incite imminent violence against federal law enforcement.

Q: We've seen images out of Chicago of federal agents shooting faith leaders with pepper balls and arresting journalists. Where's the limit for you on what's acceptable conduct by federal agents?

MIKE JOHNSON: I've not seen them cross the line yet.

Tom Bowman has held his Pentagon press pass for 28 years. He says the Pentagon's new media policy makes it impossible to be a journalist, which means finding out what's really going on behind the scenes and not accepting wholesale what any government or administration says. n.pr/4q87Jwb

I mean they can do whatever they want, but I wouldn’t bet on that being persuasive with the justices

The conflict here is that the justices aren’t using the emergency docket as a temporary tool, they’re making “precedent” and expecting lower court judges to apply it without explanation. This is why we’re seeing so much frustration from lower court judges.

Amy Coney Barrett defends heavy use of the shadow docket: "If we wrote a long opinion, it might give the impression that we have finally resolved the issue, and in none of these cases have we finally resolved the issue."

New — Video shared with me shows ICE officers in DC detaining a man on Friday.

Bystander filming asks man for his name. ICE agent lies and says he’s not allowed to speak to him “by law” and another says “We’ve arrested American citizens for being too close…If he gets any closer, put him in cuffs.”

Cross-ideological agreement that Justice Kagan is the GOAT.
The judges were also asked to respond to the following:
Lower-court judges have sufficient guidance from the Supreme Court about
how to apply emergency docket orders.
48 disagreed
5 were neutral
12 agreed
What effect, if any, has the Supreme Court's use of the emergency docket,
since President Trump returned to office, had on the public's perception of the
judiciary?
42 said caused harm
10 said no effect
2 said an improvement
Note: Eleven judges who either declined to respond to this question or said they did not know are not
included. By Joey Sendaydiego
