Kavanaugh points out that laws are not permanent: they can be revised or repealed.

The third house of Congress can repeal the Voting Rights Act when it's the proper time.

my main takeaways from listening to the Supreme Court oral argument today are

-the writing is on the wall for the Voting Rights Act
-the Republican justices are now throwing racist spaghetti at that wall; they'll pass of whatever sticks as the opinion's rationale

The Conservative Justices Have So Many Ideas For How to Kill the Voting Rights Act
The Republican justices already know where they’re going. They just have to figure out which route they’re going to take to get there.

He doesn't give a damn about American business, just taking "his" cut.

Trump is looking to start a land war against Venezuela.

He won't need Congressional approval, because he won't bother declaring war. He'll just use the US military to expand its murder operations.
Trump says US looking at land attacks in Venezuela after lethal strikes on boats – live
Trump also claims without evidence that every US strike on a suspected drug-smuggling boat saves thousands of lives

"China Has Overtaken America: And Trump’s policies guarantee that we will never catch up" - @pkrugman.bsky.social (Note: Winsome Earle-Sears is just as bad as Trump on all of this...) bluevirginia.us/2025/10/wedn...
Paul Krugman: " the energy secretary of the most technologically advanced nation on earth is unaware of the energy revolution being propelled by dramatic technological progress in batteries. And the revolution is happening now in the U.S., in places like California. "

It's no longer a "race": the US has dropped out.

While you're at it, America, why not just reintroduce slavery for all the non-Aryans?

Mike Johnson: "We've always stood with Capitol police and law enforcement. We've shown that in word and deed."
kbkorb.bsky.social
Because nothing speaks so loudly as pardoning the murderers of Capitol police.

I'm sure Fox will report it: "A scraggly bunch of losers went out and campaigned for terrorism on the weekend."
kbkorb.bsky.social
It's funny that he calls his new "followers" (in the military) suckers and losers, and they just accept that.

All true. I guess we can hope to sing loudly enough that someone else hears...

Any one of us could be in the next apartment building that ICE raids in the middle of the night.

Any one of us could be on the next boat that Trump bombs on a whim.

Any one of us could be detained for hours despite being a U.S. citizen.

Authoritarianism hurts all of us.

"All we have is [Trump's] word for it."

Even if those he killed in the Caribbean were drug traffickers, that means they **weren't** terrorists, unlawful combatants or valid targets of military force.

It's called murder.
kbkorb.bsky.social
You mean, why doesn't Trump do what he said he would do? Because he was lying.
kbkorb.bsky.social
Well, one of America's problems is that people won't even state the obvious.

"Tom Nichols writes ... that the military 'may soon face a terrible decision'."

They already did in the Caribbean @radiofreetom.bsky.social, and they blew it. Up and down the line, they need to be in the dock in The Hague.

Trump is preparing the way to murder American citizens.

And the US military is going along with it (i.e., carrying out the murders).
So You've Decided to Target Random People with Military Force
Here's why it's illegal.
