🚨 Hey All - I am looking for connections to a book agent! My book - I Never Wanted to Live a Small Life - recounts my year fighting breast cancer, while simultaneously campaigning for the Inflation Reduction Act at NRDC.

If anyone on this forum is in the book publishing world - I'd love to chat!
So nice when the airport just tells you to “relax.”
No because you have federal representation whether in Chicago or the suburbs
Vvvvv different. DC is not a state but pays enormous amounts of federal taxes.
Yes, often. Then say you’re from Northern Virginia and when they ask where that is say it’s near the city of DC.
Tour guide: “What’s a 3 letter word that’s a liquor?”

Me: “Gin”

Boomer (white man) in front of our group: “You shouldn’t know so much about liquor if you’re expecting!”

<Tell me what you would have said back to this>
Yes, and Marylanders who do that are also obnoxious I just don’t hear it as often.

I understand regional directions but in this case there’s a serious difference of living in DC (no representation) versus a state (representation). One is also occupied right now. Others are not.
You don’t get to claim a city that you don’t pay taxes in, and you have federal representation where DC residents do not. Just name the place you’re from.
No because at least in Naperville you have representation. Not paying federal taxes with no benefit.
No one is more obnoxious than the person who says they’re from DC when they’re actually from Northern Virginia.
Serious question: what did pregnant women DO before Pepcid AC??

I never feel more American than when I’m abroad and smile at people and they look confused back…
What does it mean that I know my neighbors’ dog’s names but not THEIR names…
Proud of Democrats for using whatever levers of power we have to fight for health care for Americans. Don’t back down! #shutdown2025

That will not be their first name. Their last name is Ogle Calkin.
Grateful to Zac. Grateful to science. Grateful to IVF and CCRM.

Most of all- grateful for this little embryo for deciding to give me and Zac a try as first time parents.

After 5 years, 3 losses, cancer, and IVF - baby Ogle Calkin is on the way! ETA March 4 ❤️
