Politico exposed today anti-Semitic, racist chats by a Young Republicans Telegram chat group. The quotes are too despicable to repeat. One of the members of the group, Michael Bartels, works in the Trump administration. Yet Trump didn’t comment or condemn the group.

I cannot shake off this post and the hopelessness of it. Especially now when the Trump administration is moving to replace free press by state propaganda.

I lived for 30+ years in the rural Midwest. They aren’t stupid people but unsophisticated people who
will believe anything the GOP tells
them, even an obvious lie. I can’t explain it but I can tell you from experience that this is how it is.
