“With what love, respect, joy, with what eager tenderness we must welcome anyone who comes to us, any human being. - - - When we welcome them, we welcome Jesus!”

St. Charles de Foucauld, pray for us, that we might proclaim the liberating Gospel by our lives.

Today’s “prayer table” at home - a focus for my Morning Prayer, Intercession and Adoration. I prayed today for all my followers on here and other social media, as well as for those who had asked for particular intentions, and for the Church and the world.

Today the Church keeps the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham

I belong to an online Walsingham Prayer Cell, daily asking her prayers for requested intentions, for the Little Sisters of Jesus who live there and for 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿.

O Blessed Mary, Mother of God,
Our Lady of Walsingham,
intercede for us.

My partner’s two aunts, retired now, came over from Malaysia decades ago and worked all their lives for the NHS. They have “indefinite leave to remain”. Having served this country for decades, would Farage et al threaten them with deportation? Yet another outrageous policy proposal from Reform.
Reform will apparently pledge today that they'd abolish indefinite leave to remain - including retrospectively, to people already granted it. Obviously this is a moral abomination but it is also a practical and legal impossibility.

In 1917, Britain denied Palestinian national rights, paving the way for over a century of dispossession.

Recognition is long overdue - but it alone won’t end Israel’s genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, which continue unabated with the UK's complicity.

With attacks intensifying on Gaza City, Pope Leo XIV has expressed his closeness to people being displaced.

He reiterated his call for a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and respect for international humanitarian law.

Hildegaard of Bingen

“Most glorious and holy God,
whose servant Hildegard, strong in the faith,
was caught up in the vision of your heavenly courts:
by the breath of your Spirit
open our eyes to glimpse your glory
and our lips to sing your praises with all the angels”

(From: @cofe CW)
But whenever we do it, it’s guaranteed that we will be told it’s “out of context”, which is supposed to somehow justify the nastinesses.

Attacks by Israel on Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Yemen, Tunisia, Qatar without any criticism, let alone condemnation, from 🇺🇸 and its lackeys. They can clearly get away with anything they want. What, on earth, does the future hold for us and our children?
