Our current political turmoil flies in the face of what our Founding Fathers sought to embody in early documents: Unity

United we can vanquish the baser impulses of those who seek only our exploitation & oppression.

Democracy thrives on “participation, not compulsion” (borrowing from C.J. Cherryh)

40% of live births in America are paid for by Medicaid.

Slash that shit and then what?

Babies die. Mothers die. We all pay more for every kind of medical care and hospitals go belly up.

How. Is. That. Winning?

Obama: "The weird videos of a US president with a crown on his head flying a fighter jet & dumping poop on American citizens - that's not even worth booing about. Because all of that is a distraction from the fact that your situation, your life has not gotten better. They do it so you won't notice"

I miss Obama. His speeches and interviews are always extremely human and articulate. He has a soul. And intelligence and integrity.

"... It isn't ICE. It isn't CBP. It's a Frankenstein force, stitched together from multiple agencies but loyal to none. Its purpose is to create a community response designed for social media clicks, rather than to keep communities safe..."

Opinion | The White House's sweeping overhaul of ICE is creating a Frankenstein force
The recent wave of ICE senior official reassignments has a clear motive.

It was great being back in Norfolk to help get out the vote for @abigailspanberger.com for Governor.

Obama: As for the president, he has been focused on critical issues like paving over the rose garden so folks don't get mud on their shoes and gold plating the Oval Office and building a ballroom… If you can't visit a doctor, don't worry. He will save you a dance.

“The GOP’s greatest con has convinced Americans that what is holding them back economically is not the rich with their tax lawyers and loopholes; rather, it’s the poor, who might buy junk food with food stamps. It’s not the people hoarding billions; it’s the people sleeping on the sidewalks.”

A president actively thinking about suspending habeas corpus is a president Congress should be actively thinking about removing from power.

From MeidasTouch Legal AF: The Convicted FElon DOJ is now deleting court documents on J6 terrorists who have been in trouble with law repeatedly. The DOJ was caught when a judge noticed a document missing on a J6'er, who wanted to bomb Obama's home & was convicted for it. I bet these are ICE now.

Obama is better than caffeine…any day. I had almost forgotten what it sounds like when a fine orator is at the podium.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) actually told the press that Democrats would be the ones hurt most by losing SNAP.

To be fair, since he lives in Florida instead of the state he represents, maybe he doesn’t realize 752,000 Alabamians rely on SNAP—14.6% of the state’s population.

Never take seriously those who ridicule low income people for having a smartphone or laptop.

“If they’re so poor how did they buy an iPhone???”

Because they’re trying to escape poverty, not the 1700s, genius. If you think basic tech access is luxury, survive a month without it.

Well, an acquaintance who relies on the ACA marketplace for insurance just received a notice explaining that their fee for coverage will be rising. Right now they pay $180 a month. The new price?

$2733.15 a month.

Rep. Adam Smith: "This country has not agreed to have the death penalty for drug smuggling. If we want to have that policy conversation, we can have that policy conversation, but the president has unilaterally decided that lethal force is going to be applied. It's an enormous expansion of power."

Let’s talk about ICE. This post is long, but it’s worth reading to understand how to protect your right to privacy.

It might sound extreme, but everyday Americans may soon want to consider face coverings for reasons far beyond health or fashion.
