He was probably toast regardless, but it's hard not to think that maybe if he'd been diagnosed earlier he could have gotten chemo and had a few more years, which is all just sort of an actuarial problem to the absolute fucking psychopaths that run these places

Just connected the dots on the fact that my dad was a patient at Oregon Medical Group, which got bought by United Healthcare a few years ago, causing all the doctors to quit; my dad waited months for appointments multiple times and wasn't diagnosed with cancer until a few months before he died
