I’m going to have a pretty gnarly bruise but we need to remember why this is happening: Trump and ICE are rounding up our neighbors, treating them as subhuman, and shipping them off to labor camps in foreign countries. It has to end.

For Republicans, there's really no need to open the government ever again, since Trump is legislating by royal decree right now anyway.

In fact, the longer the government is shutdown, the more legitimate Trump's decrees will become, as institutions become more dependent upon them for their funding.
