Yeah the whole “police prevent crimes” narrative is kinda dumb. If someone is committed to breaking the law, police are very bad at preventing that crime from occurring.

You could even bring up the problem with how you can de-anonymize collected data to find out what a specific person is doing online and the need for better safeguards but you aren’t doing that either. There are legitimate problems but you aren’t mentioning them
