It took three of us to stop one driver. He backed up to try to go around me. Then a friend joined me while Steve calmly talked to him. By the end I heard Steve telling him that it was a nice area to live in.
And both drivers stated "I live here". So? The kids have the right to be on that road as much as them. I tried to explain that to one man and he berated me about kids needing to know the "rules of the road", ie staying on the right side of the yellow line. I then stopped trying to reason with him.
Last #KidicalMassHfx ride of the year with a great group of volunteers and participants. This #bikehfx event is always one of my favourites.
And thanks for your cool, calm, collected level headedness!
These spoke lights from Lee Valley are quite durable and bright. Going on year the of riding with them though the winter. Only annoyance is that the button is a little stiff

The best part of my commute in #bikehfx today (and every Tuesday). The graveyard always feels so quiet.
I'm sad to miss this one but if anyone is interested in marshalling for Kidical Mass this weekend they are in need of a couple volunteers!
We could really use a few more ride marshals for our #KidicalMassHfx ride this weekend in #BikeHfx. If you, or someone you know is willing & available Sunday morning at 9:30am, we'd love to have your/their support.

Ride marshals are integral to keeping our rides safe for kids and families.

Welp, it happened again. Hit by a driver in the bike lane/MUP in front of Purdys Wharf. I’m absolutely fine, so is my bike. Just mad.
Those numbers will be so interesting. It's been especially busy this week when I've crossed!
I was going to offer this same thing. Have you made it home Nick?
There was a lot of loose gravel in that section of the trail too. And A LOT of potholes.
What was the best Halloween costume you ever had?
Oh no! They're were definitely a lot of potholes out there. I hope you get seen soon!
I bet there will be some pretty good numbers this morning!
Beautiful morning for a long ride in the woods. The trail was BUSY!
And I saw you and your kiddos watching the boats as I biked past you on the bridge! And then @danp.net saw me on Devonshire and generously waited for me as I slowly climbed the hill.
Yup. It's normal. My third smoky ride to work in a row. 😭
I report close calls on bikemaps.org. I don't know if it will ever get looked at by any decision makers, but it makes me feel like I am at least contributing to some citizen documentation. If a lot of people did this, it could highlight particularly problematic spots.

We biked a section in the gaspereau valley in the spring and it was terrifying. And that's when the wineries weren't even open.
And what is open/under review is actually not safe infrastructure. Most sections don't even have paved shoulders.

We rode 180km in 3 days on the Confederation trail, in PEI National Park and on quiet roads. We sought out coffee shops for pastries and dairy bars for ice cream. We sometimes rode fast to work out stress and catch sunsets. We also rode slow with some little friends who biked 20km! Such joy! 2/2

V had anxiety and being active was one way she managed it. She passed that on to me. My chest pain and shallow breathing showed up last week for the first time in years. Likely due to anger about bike lanes, a woods ban, climate anxiety, etc. So we went to PEI to ride our bikes in the woods! 1/2
