Yesterday, I hit the final @NOVA_Parks (I have covered all of our staffed properties. More to go in the future!) on my 3-week tour:

I met the team at Temple Hall Farm Regional Park and visited Piscataway Crossing Regional Park, both beautiful resources in Loudoun County.

I visited with the team at Algonkian Regional Park, Brambleton Regional Park and the brand-new Reservoir Park which just celebrated its first birthday.

Today my @NOVA_Parks adventure was a visit to the 1,500 acre Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville including a review of the setup process for the upcoming Festival of Lights.

I also visited the Bull Run Shooting Center, the region’s only public shotgun range.

Today I was on my home turf exploring the Alexandria @NOVA_Parks

Started the day touring the Carlyle House Historic Park.

That was followed by a visit to the Winkler Botanical Preserve.

Finally, I checked out the prep work for “Ice & Lights” at Cameron Run Regional Park!

Today Kid2 turns 18 and our baby becomes an adult (“technically”).

She has an incredible work ethic, is passionate about helping others, cares about the world and most importantly is a good friend. We are so proud of the person she has become.

Today I was in Arlington and visited Potomac Overlook Regional Park and the Mayer Center for Environmental Education (including Sugar the Corn Snake!).

Afterwards, we hit Upton Hill Regional Park including the amazing Climb UPton!

Today’s theme was: old stuff in Loudoun County.

Visited the team at Aldie Mill Historic Park in the Village of Aldie, home of an early 19th century gristmill.

Wrapped up the week at the 200-year old stone bridge at Goose Creek Historic Park.

Day 4 on the job at @NOVA_Parks

Busy day visiting Pohick Bay Regional Park (campsites, golf course and pool), our Central Maintenance operation, Fountainhead and Sandy Run Regional Parks.

We even saw a bald eagle supervising at Pohick Bay on an amazing day.

Today, I visited and met the team at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna.

We toured the 95 acres of gardens (currently being prepped for the Winter Walk of Lights {tickets on sale now!}) and I also greeted the team in our mentor program.

Day 2 on the job at @NOVA_Parks

Today, I got to visit the crew who manage the W&OD Railroad Regional Park and explore a few miles west of Ashburn on the region’s best trail.

After that, we hit Rust Manor House, a beautiful event venue on 68 acres near downtown Leesburg.

For the very last time, I fled my office, grabbed the snazzy yellow vest (I’m taking it with me!) and helped @amtrak.com customers find their trains on a busy Friday morning.

It has always been fun to help our customers (and occasionally field constituent inquires) over the years!
