"’Where's Papa going with that ax?’" E.B. White’s classic Charlotte’s Web was published on this date in 1952 by Harper & Brothers. White (1899-1985) deservedly won the Newberry Medal for the novel – & any young reader can attest to the charm of Garth Williams’ (1912-1996) illustrations.

Plenty of good stuff has been said about classical music in cartoons (from Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny to Bluey), but a different example that really stuck with me was "In the Hall of the Mountain King" as the puppet show on Zoobilee Zoo.

Haha this reminds me of when we had a decades day in high school. My class had the '80s and I wore a bunch of accessories from when I was a kid and some of my mom's workout clothes with hot pink lipstick and blue eyeshadow. My history teacher called it uncanny that she wore the same look in college.
