I didn't expect this Wikipedia entry to be a relevant link to include on the episode page for my next episode, but @juliaazari.bsky.social made sure it became relevant: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faintin...

does it help if i promise that even if we did end up on different sides of this tangled question*, I was definitely not mad at you :) ?
*i probably took multiple conflicting sides at different times

i mean i write about elections so i'm definitely guilty of this, but more importantly, how else will we lay the blame at the feet of Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris and make barely disguised misogynistic statements?

is it really pure pedantry if it's only like 90% pedantry? *ducks, prepares to be blocked*

these people are so obsessed with the pronoun thing. honestly. i am 45. my brain and mouth run at different speeds. i make pronoun errors. i apologize and move on and have yet to be canceled. and having the stuff in one's email signature cuts down on such incidents.

No one is betting against Weiss. Critics aren't saying she will fail. They're worried she will succeed.

This is really smart. Amazed at the hysteria over the ascendance of a woman entrepreneur who clearly knows how to cover and sell news and who's not afraid to take on a mob. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

narratives are important but never the whole story, and news media aren't exactly separate from the process of their creation.

"Depends on who you ask" framing is one of the most grating tics in modern political journalism. Objective reality exists and your job is to describe it.

A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.
