I liked this movie. But I do like solid-premise single-location indie #scifi +weird films (The Man From Earth, Circle). It’s actually possible to shoot them($) & they are more like plays in terms of dialogue/character driving discovery/weirdness. Would be v fun on the acting side! Congrats to them

If anyone is interested in the sequel to COHERENCE, we finally landed on a story worthy of the mission. Unless the actors revolt, we will probably do it just like the first one, where they know their own character details, but don't know what the other actors are going to say or do. Like real life.

& give me a shout if you ever want to know what was going on with this on the film/scifi side with funding during the regressive backlash to the Obama era pre-2016/pre-gamergate. I haven’t read the book yet but I figure there’s no way it’s in there since it was insider-y & the players often failed.

Well covered. I admit I’ve worried this necessary progress would somehow be delegitimized, captured or gotten rid of, just as you explored. Much as with actors/colleagues who make other anti-labor statements, I’m oft surprised at anti-labor statements about this safeguard. You know, cool girl shit.

meanwhile I fired 42West due to their publicist not doing what they said/bullshitting this same kind of thing and got a refund on my entire account. Not a secret b/c was asked in a news interview about it. Totally diff. people worked there then vs now though. But it hurt my film project at the time.

seen this for the non-internal/studio publicity shops for ex IDPR would include they had given me x DVDs for a viewer giveaway but I could see from their report to their client they didn’t watch to see how meaningful that giveaway was in situ — just stats to give clients to justify their costs
