It’s a space that need a specific shape. Which I guess we could do with planks and blocks but 🤷‍♀️ as Joey says it’s a moo point.
Overall it was a good day. Recorded a lecture about how to use form to convey character. Got rid of enough books from my library I don't have to spend 300 bucks on a new big bookshelf. Got fan mail (??!!!). Got a short story acceptance. Got copy of magazine I wrote for. So yeah great day!
I always wanted a book cover like Drew Struzan’s art.
We're reading Howl's Moving Castle for the first time and wow I was not expecting Howl to come from Wales and wear a rugby jersey but here we are and no this is not a shit post this is canon.
Sometimes in order to feel hope in the world, I just need to hear Isabelle from Animal Crossing sing "Good Luck Babe" and that's what the internet is for.
Just submitted two short stories. Allons-y!
I was really disheartened that my zero draft is going so slow but then I saw a facebook post of when I was writing Lighthouse and it is exactly what I'm going through right now. And Lighthouse ended up being a really really strong book I'm very proud of. So this one will be okay, too.
Not me trying to convince my wife to move to Decorah six hours after stepping foot in Decorah for the first time.
Today began with a short story rejection and ended with me staying in the “author’s apartment” above Dragonfly Books the night before an event. Writing careers are like the ocean, waves in waves out waves in.
Behind every email is someone asking someone else “does this look okay?”

Ain’t no rest for the wicked. Tomorrow Narrative Healing starts at The Loft and then I’ll be on panels at Gaylaxy Con!
My brain at 3 in the morning: Hey hey, where can you find conspiring chickens?

Me: where?

My brain: … a chicken coup :3

I actually allowed my wife to read some pages of book three, and she said it didn't suck. So hooray!
It's not an extensive list and some of it is no-brainer, but I hope it helps a little.
