She filed for a form of relief earlier this year, it was accepted, and it was still being processed. She paid all the necessary fees. She had good moral character-something Trump’s administration demands as a standard. Everything about her case said she should stay. She wasn’t hiding.She wasn’t undocumented. She was following the process. And the judge seemed to agree. The judge granted her a continuance and gave her a new date later this year so her case could move forward. Her lawyer and the paralegals were shocked when ICE met them at the door of the courthouse to detain her.
