James Franklin did not give a direct answer when asked if he wanted to be Penn State’s head coach or when asked if it was best for his career.

Drew Allar is out for the season according to James Franklin.

That’s gonna do it. Penn State is going to fall to Northwestern, 22-21. Three straight losses, this one the most damning one.

Allar has his left cleat off and is heading into the tunnel.

Drew Allar is down with an injury.

Well

All Penn State has to do to close this out is not let a really bad Northwestern offense score a touchdown in about 11 minutes of gametime.

Devonte Ross is pretty clearly WR1 at this point. Nearly outran the entire Northwestern defense on that one, but at least set Penn State up deep in Northwestern territory.

Northwestern is up 16-14 on Penn State in the fourth quarter. I think we all thought this was possible, but I'm gonna be honest, I don't know if I REALLY thought it was possible.

Brutal muffed punt by Devonte Ross and now Northwestern will almost assuredly take the lead, it's just a matter of whether it's a field goal or a touchdown.

Penn State goes into the half with a 14-13 lead, and has not looked particularly great on either side of the ball.

Penn State spends four plays trying to force a touchdown for Nick Singleton and it finally works on fourth and goal. Nittany Lions take the lead back before the half, 14-10.

Bad drop by Kyron Hudson. Allar put it on him for a first down on the comeback route, but he couldn't haul it in.

A.J. Harris got beat on that touchdown by Northwestern — don't see that too often. Wildcats up 10-7.

Good things are happening when Kaytron Allen touches the ball. He's up to nine carries for 59 yards and a touchdown on the day.

That's a really bad ball by Drew Allar. Looked like he tried to go back shoulder to Liam Clifford but instead threw it right at Ore Adeyi.

Good drive by Penn State's defense. Could have been over sooner if not for Dani Dennis-Sutton jumping offsides. He more than makes up for it, though, by blocking the Northwestern punt. Second week in a row he's done that.

Mostly fine. Student section is not great but that’s not necessarily out of the ordinary this early.

View from today’s office.
