Yeah we have empty seats at our stadium. Guess what? Pretty much every school does. WVU? Yup. PSU? Go look at their non conference games. Hell, look at this past weekend.

The more I think about the Roethlisberger comments about Pitt building its own 35k size stadium, the more it annoys me. Why do we have to fucking keep reminding people in Pittsburgh that PITT ISN’T A FUCKING MAC SCHOOL.

Look, the Steelers are Pittsburgh’s team. That’s the way the Rooney’s want it. Pittsburgh is bigger than the Steelers. So the stadium is Pittsburgh’s. It’s not the Steelers stadium. It’s for the Pittsburgh football community. So that includes Pitt. That includes the WPIAL.

The rail line would be behind one of the end zones. It’s an active conrail line, and Amtrak runs its trains to and fro DC there, but over night.

And yes, that is pretty much all the drainage route from Squirrel Hill. So it would be a significant mess to try and build a stadium there.
